Looking west across the Mississippi River from a point on the eastern shore, just south of the Old Vicksburg Bridge. Special thanks to use this photograph go to Janie Fortenberry, Southern Accents Photography, Vicksburg, MS.

Welcome to WesGPS.com! If this is your first visit here you will find that this website is about a variety of subjects. There are humorous stories, as well as general articles about the surveying, mapping, and construction industry. There are also articles about equipment financing and leasing.

My most recent posting is part one of a two part story entitled “Keith Wright and The Mississippi River.” It is a bittersweet story from the mid 1960’s – not too long after I first started my surveying career. You can find the link to it directly above as well as in the sidebar to the right.

I promise that I won’t leave you hanging for too long and will return here to publish part two of the story soon.

In the meantime you might want to visit MarandaJane.com to check out the latest web project I have been working on. It’s a small site I put up for Maranda. Her album “After Words” has been completed for sometime now. It has just taken awhile to get it up on iTunes, CD Baby, and Amazon.

Check it out – if you like well crafted music with a meaningful message you might enjoy what you find on that site. You won’t hear any vocal gymnastics or anything “weird” – at least by my standards. It’s just good poetic music along the lines of Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, Helen Reddy, and Karen Carpenter. There are sound samples of a few of the tracks as well as a free full track on the MarandaJane.com site. CD Baby and iTunes have sound samples of all of the tracks.  In addition to the links mentioned in the previous paragraph, you can also purchase the CD direct from me (and save the cost of shipping) by clicking the PayPal “Buy Now” button below. A PayPal account is not required – credit card is fine.
